We officially paid our 5% Deposit today, after nearly 12 months of changing and swapping things around. Totally our doing, as we nearly bought in one estate and changed to another that the titles were released on in Feb 08. The builder (well Nathan because we haven't really spoke to anyone else up until now) has been fantastic.
When I went to the office today to pay the deposit, I was informed that Sth East Water have some issues with our being 3.3 metre from the rear fence line, the easement is 2.5 and our building envelope is 3 metres off the back fence. "So it shouldn't be a problem", I said. Wrong!
Apparently they (Sth East Water) have not laid the pipes exactly where they should have been and we need to loose 360mm of the back of the house.... I am beginning to get some sort of phobia to rulers and the 300mm agenda.
Anyway back to the drawing board now to see what we can do with the plans....
