Meeting Day.....

Well it has come to my mind that Wednesdays are a bitch..... This is the day the building company has there weekly meetings and get together........ This also appears to be the most common day for no work to be happening on the house........ At least so far anyway.....

Plasterers & Chippies.......

Well the plasterers we in on Friday doing the touch ups and busy sanding it all, for a very clean and fresh falt and smooth finish....... Hopefully........

The chippies...... Well that is another story.......Unbelievable....
These guys have worked since Friday 'till today non stop.... Bugger me, they worked all day Saturday and Sunday and Monday and Today..... Bloody nora... Billiant.....

The frett wood work arrived on Friday as well........

We also have all the doors, architraves, shelving and some of the under eve works have been started and nearly finished. Then they are going to work on the finishing of the Alfresco framing and boxing...

Doors have arrived......

We have the plasterers back in today doing the cornices and finishing off their work. We also had the doors and arc's dropped off ready for hanging....... Here are some pics.....

Well I went up to the house, no longer the block, and went in expecting to see the plasterers back in there this morning being busy little beavers putting up the cornices. But, when I walked in I noticed the kitchen Island bench base going in instead, and turned around and wholly shit batman, the kitchen was installed, except for the kitchen sink..........

My initial thought was, wow, looks great....... But then it dawned on me.... I thought, "aren't those overhead cupboards supposed to be a different colour to the under bench cupboards?"

It appears, I thought aloud!!!!! The installer said, "No, don't tell me that", he checked his paper work and yep there it was all in black and white. "Beige, Beige, Beige, Beige and Kalahari Topaz bench tops"..... I thought , nah, I don't think that is right and told them I would be back shortly as I am only 5 minutes away....

I get home and quickly check our paperwork here and there it was, also in black and white, Beige under bench cupboards, beige kick boards and pearl dust overhead cupboards...

OOOPPPSSS

I went straight back up there and on the way the cabinet maker calls me and says yep there was a stuff up somewhere, there initial paperwork say what mine does and the follow up paperwork doesn't..... For what ever reason.......

Someone has been getting absolutely.... PLASTERED.....

Unfortunately not the alcohol type this week.... Don't get me wrong...I like the other plaster getting done too... but this has been an exceptionally hard week for all in our house......and the alcohol might have helped... :-)

But here is what can happen to the inside of a house in a week, I was unable to get up there to take pictures in stages so I apologise.....

The guys said they will be back on Monday to sand it all back and fit the cornises and the kitchen is schedule for delivery next week some time.....Now things are moving a little better.....

More bricks...... I know how boring....

But it is exciting for us......

I went up to take some shots today and it looks like we have nearly finished bricking, the tradies told me they would, possibly, be back next week for a couple of days to finish of the brick pillars for the alfresco, all the window sills and the brick bases for the front pillars....

We will see won't we!!!!!!

Also we had the boys in installing the wall insulation batts this weeks, they started on the 2nd Sep but had to come back and put some sound check insulation in the laundry wall, so they were all finished by the 4th. I was also informed that the plasterers should be here next week....

In the meantime I hope you enjoy some pics...

The back of the garage is now complete and so is the ensuite and kitchen window sills, buggered if I know why they did those and not the rest, but anyway....


It is all looking good for now.....

Bricking update....

Just because Mell asked so nicely........ :-)
Here is another update these taken today at around miday.........

Only the bricks under all the windows are remaining to be done....



Blind sideway complete, except the under window sections...

Alfresco area nearly complete....again except for the under window sections and our brick pillars.

All that remains at this point.... I will venture up again tomorrow and take more pics...

I was also told/informed today by the brickies that their next job is up in the bush some where, a little suburb around Seville somewhere I believe....and that they should be finished in a couple of days, except for the under window sections...

They will/should/might be back next week sometime to finish those off as they will wait for the plasterers to do any minor adjustments before completing.

Speaking of plasterers..... Have you finished with them yet Mel.....hahahaha....

Apparently they or someone was here this morning doing the measuring up and what nots for the plastering to begin........ Yippeee.....
